Foiling state of the art: the past 15 years have been virtually unprecedented in the boat development.  Starting with the 2001 Moth worlds, the use of hydrofoils – be they horizontal, curved, inclined, V, T, or Z formed, active or passive – has permeated racing classes.  And it is accelerating, leaving rating systems scratching their heads.  The cross over to performance “cruising” is already water under the bridge.  The Olympic classes are next.  Existing styles of boats are utilizing foils, where they previously did not and naturally new types of craft are being imagined.  One such craft will be given a world premiere in this presentation.
