A prominent figure in the world of owner driver one-design yacht racing, Bertrand Favre has been Class Manager for the D35 Trophy since 2003 and the RC44 Championship Tour since its inception in 2006. He is now leading the conception of the D35’s successor, an innovative foiling 35’ catamaran named TF35.
Under Favre’s guidance the Decision 35 catamaran, specifically designed for high performance racing on the light wind waters of Lake Geneva, has grown over the years to the fleet we see today – eight events, eleven teams and some of the biggest names in multihull racing.
After three years successfully managing theD35 TrophyFavre was picked up by America’s Cup legend Sir Russell Coutts in 2006 as he put the final designs together for the light-displacement carbon forty-foot RC44.
13 years on and the RC44 Championship Tour has firmly established itself as one of the most competitive one-design monohull racing circuits on the international stage attracting top businessmen together with some off the biggest names in sailing.
The driving force behind both fleets, Favre leads a small team of world class professionals to deliver sailing events that are hailed for their competitiveness and top level racing that is true to the sport.
