At the age of 20, Michel Desjoyeaux was recruited by Eric Tabarly for his first round the world race. Since then, in monohulls, multihulls, small or large boats, in regattas between three buoys or around the world, Michel Desjoyeaux has built up a unique list of achievements in the world of sailing.
A solo sailor, he is the only sailor to have won three Solitaire du Figaro (in 1992, 1998 and 2007), two Vendée Globe (2000-2001 and 2008-2009), the Route du Rhum (2002) and the Transat Anglaise (2004).
Passionate about competition, Michel approaches his sport with a rare professionalism. He knows how to both innovate and refine the most common detail. He builds each of his victories both on land and at sea, taking the same meticulous care in the design and development of his boats, manoeuvres and weather strategy.
His human qualities, recognized by all, make him an endearing personality. Available and educational, he never loses the opportunity to share with others his love of the sea and work well done.
