A member of the New York Yacht Club American Magic design team, Michel Kermarec is a French engineer and designer, specialized in race boats appendages. After competing in the Olympic Games in 1988 (Soling), he got involved in America’s Cup and offshore sailing project, working amongst others with Oracle Team USA for 10 years, from 2003 to 2013. In charge of appendages developments and performance predictions, in particular of the big trimaran project for the 2010 Cup, and of the AC72 boats for the 2013 Cup, and then in charge of appendages developments for Artemis Racing team for the 2017 Cup.
He also won the Admiral’s Cup in 1991 (Corum Team), sailed onboard ORMA 60’s with Paul Vatine, Alain Gautier and Michel Desjoyeaux and currently sails dinghy catamarans.
