President, IMOCA Class
Antoine Mermod
Antoine Mermod has served as president of the International Monohull Open Class Association (IMOCA) since 2017.
Before taking on this role, he worked as team manager of No Way Back during the Vendée Globe with skipper Pieter Heerema, and held technical positions with renowned projects such as Sergio Tacchini and Gitana.
As IMOCA president, he has played a key role in strengthening and expanding the Class. By ensuring stability in technical rules, he has contributed to greater boat reliability and raised the sporting standards of iconic races. Under his leadership, the IMOCA Globe Series calendar has grown into a diverse, international program, now featuring The Ocean Race alongside legendary events such as the Vendée Globe, Route du Rhum or Transat Café l’OR.
