Martina Reche Vilanova

Martina Reche-Vilanova (1996, Spain) is Technical Manager at North Windships. A qualified naval architect with a lifelong passion for sailing, she holds a PhD from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), completed in collaboration with the North Technology Group and Harvard University. During her PhD, she developed WindWise, an AI-driven framework for cost-benefit analysis and design optimisation of wind propulsion systems, enabling informed decisions that balance efficiency, emissions reduction, and cost. She also holds a degree in Naval Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) and a double master’s in Naval Architecture and Maritime Engineering from KTH and DTU. In her current role, Martina supports key stakeholders in implementing wind propulsion solutions, helping accelerate the decarbonisation of commercial shipping by demonstrating their economic and environmental benefits.
